Refreshing Cachagua

My future home. Not:) But it's by the beach, with fresh air, why not, aye? It certainly would be great to have a holiday home like some very fortunate people. However, even that hasn't put me off  dreaming about my soon to be new home.  I've been honestly going to bed fantasizing about how it's gonna all be - especially the so so beautiful and spacey kitchen and how we're gonna decorate the space with our travel collection. Oh, the month of May :) I'll try to wait for you patiently in a non-excessive insane manner. A challenge I will have to deal with for sure.
For now, I'll let you all in on our little getaway to Cachagua for Luis's dad's 63rd birthday.
I must thank God for I have a family that's blessed.
We do get to enjoy to a certain extend the luxuries that life can sometimes surprise us with.
I do believe though, that people who have worked hard deserve it all. So good on people that have more than us ! Especially if they love to spread the love.
 That's always a bonus.
So last Friday, as sick as I was, I packed an overnight bag and loaded myself with meds but was all the same excited to be on a road trip with our trusty Terracan. Getaways are so refreshing!  A little less than 2 hours after,  we found ourselves at Cachagua. This place is gorgeous and I instantly felt better with the first breath of fresh sea breeze.  The photo above was taken from our apartment. Tio Luis rented an exact replica, except on higher ground for a 2.5 week getaway -  well from the spot I took the photo . I was just thrilled to be part of it all,
even if it was for a day.
It's amazing how a change in scene and the sound of  waves can serve to be so therapeutic.

The beautiful ferns, the colours that welcomed us. Who needs a whole welcoming team aye?  We however did have the lovely family waving at us as we drove in :)

This was our view from the terrace where we spent most of our time. As a matter of fact, from the dinning room too. Don't we all love the cactus :) The view of the sea was priceless too.

From the edge of the cliff, beyond the cactus scene above, we got to peek down to this gorgeous pool, where Pali & Carola spent a lot of time and where we waved at them when Luis took me out to have a walk. I honestly had a flash-back at this point from the movie," My Sister's Keeper". I guess the big difference was that I was only having a fever. Oh, I love that movie ! That's love

Staring into nothingness was just bliss :)

The beautiful lake in the little commercial area not far from the pretty holiday homes, where we went for the birthday cake

The carefree pretty bird at the lake

Happy couple & myself looking quite the sickly pitiful one.
Ha ha - At least I was there right? and with my pretty black and red dress from Bali:)
But honestly, Cachagua was stirring something within me, I was seriously happy. Though it could be the drugs too :)

The Luis' at dinner at the Golf Club, honestly the Cerviche is great there ! Oh, at this point I was thinking, this is potentially how my Luis would look at 63.

I wonder what you wish for at your 63rd birthday? Especially when ones so accomplish. Well I must remember this, in years to come, I must say a thank you before I wish for anything.
.......

The next morning I was up early, spent hours reading just enjoying the serenity of the place, Luis followed me shortly after. Everything was so beautiful - the sea was so calm and it made me think and be thankful for the beauty that surrounds us.  I'm so blessed to find myself living in a country that has such profound beauty.  Within hours from the hussle and bussle of Santiago, I could  be taken to a totally different scene with a notable different feel. I remember saying to Luis on the way, " We're in the middle of nowhere, but everything is so beautiful".
The horses in the green pastures, the wild ginormous cacti sprouting amidst the landscaped cliffs,
the series of vineyards
and how the sky changes colours from purple to orange to royal blue.
Cachugua, you definitely didn't fail to provide a place to refresh and rewind and most importantly
to remind me of how tangible beauty really is.

.  Cachagua, you were just what I needed, you healed me.
