Nations Unite in Santiago

The thing that tops "difficult about moving" is leaving your love ones and friends behind. Though, the possibility of new friendship is always refreshing and exciting. Spending time with a group of girls yesterday, answered my pending question before leaving Malaysia, " I wonder who I'll meet?"
I believe we meet people at different phases of our life -  people are meant to walk in at certain stages of our lives.  Looking back, this has really been true in my case and it has help abundantly with all the moving I've done and the emotional roller coster ride that comes with it.
I've really learnt to take note of people, to spend a bit of time when someone says hello and to appreciate people and what they bring to my life. So here's to friendship and to new beginnings with these girls.
These are some photos from an encounter over brunch to a gathering with a nation of beautiful strong women.

Natasha and I met up over brunch last week

Ica joined us mid-way and then we went shoe-shopping, well Ica did we just supported her, mostly :)

Then yesterday, we met up for a pot-luck in conjunction with Christmas. This photo was taken a tad earlier before the whole gang of 14 people arrived- these are among the wonderful people I've met - a Filipino, a couple of Indonesians, a Malaysian, a Chinese, a Hongkongese, a Columbian and a South African.

This was a section of the delicious spread

I brought the beef cutlets

To seal delicious, the desserts were spectacular ! I especially loved Celine's Mousse - she generously used dark chocolate that she brought back from her beautiful country France

My plate,  I had a couple of those -heavenly !

The scene yesterday; this was when Ica, who hosted us at her beautiful apartment announced that we were going to start  the exchange of gifts - " Something soft and round" and around $2000 Chilean Pesos.

Among the gifts that were exchanged - Hello Mexican friend who missed out on the earlier photo session

And more gifts, and the beautiful Latino friends from Ecuador and Columbia and my French friend on the far right on the chair who also missed out on the photo session

Happy with my first Christmas gift ! :)
